Tintoretto and his Venice

Tintoretto, Regarded as one of the greatest painters of the Renaissance and of all time. Also known as Il furioso, as Vasari called him because of his strong character, and his dramatic use of perspective and light.

Starting in Cannaregio, the Artist’s birthplace Sestiere, you will discover the Church of Madonna dell ‘Orto just a short walk from the Heureka, and then discover his home where he lived until his death. By water cab you will continue to the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, where Tintoretto created his most famous painting cycle with episodes from the Old and New Testaments. The visit can be completed by also discovering the Basilica dei Frari and the works of Titian for an interesting artistic comparison.
